So You Think You Can Dance

Travis Wall and Nick Lazzarini to Star in Glee-Inspired Reality Series

Season 1 winner Nick Lazzarini and Season 2 finalist Travis Wall are getting set to launch a new reality TV series called King of Dance. The show will chronicle the two dancers, along with two of their close friends, as they navigate their way through the rigors of the professional dance world. Throughout the course of the show, the four dancers/choreographers strive to create their own dance company against the inevitable drama that comes with living together.

In an interview with After Elton, Travis discussed the new reality series and also opened up about his sexuality, something he kept on the DL during his time on So You Think You Can Dance. “I never had to put on a front like that, but it’s true that I wanted to be in the Top 10," he confessed. Contestants get caught up in the competition part, which can lead them to stray from who they truly are, or at least not lay it out on the table for the viewers’ discretion.

Now, Travis feels comfortable talking about it and even elaborated about his “first real” boyfriend, gymnast Dom Palange — a relationship that caused a heightened post-a-thon on Twitter. “I’ve never made a big statement like, ‘Oh I’m gay.’ It’s like, if you know you know, and I’ve never been afraid to not say something on Twitter. So, I didn’t even realize the impact of me like just saying ‘I miss you, I love you’ [to Dom] on Twitter and then people are saying that I came out,” he told After Elton. Travis just laughed the incident off, confident in the fact that he’s never lied about his sexuality.

How does all of this pay it’s role in his new series King of Dance? Well, the other two dancers living with Nick and Travis are straight. They plan to use these dynamics to create a fun, entertaining series with a "Glee moment every show, where there will be a dance number at the end of it." Travis continues, "It’s like showing the process, lifting the curtain on how choreographers create a piece and how we live together.”
