He's half of one of TV's most groundbreaking gay couples, but is Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Mitchell) gay in real life? Modern Family's resident redhead is, in fact, out and proud.

Jesse, 35, told Out Magazine that he came out to his parents when he was 21. "My mom actually was the one that broached the subject," he said. "She said, 'I think you're gay.'"
Jesse joked that he had to come out to his father about four times. "He kept forgetting and would ask about girlfriends," Jesse told Out. "I’d be like, 'Dad, we talked about this!'"
As for Jesse's onscreen husband, Eric Stonestreet (Cameron)? Eric is not only straight, but he has a serious girlfriend, actress Katherine Tokarz. "I call him gay-for-pay," Jesse said. But oddly enough, when the actors better known as Mitchell and Cameron used to go out in Hollywood, they found certain fan reaction to be a little strange. "We were finding when we were going out, especially at the beginning of the show, that a lot of men were hitting on Eric and a lot of women were approaching me," Jesse told USA Today.
Jesse is currently dating Los Angeles attorney Justin Mikita. The totally in-love couple first stepped out publicly at the January 2011 Elle's Women in Television Event. Jesse and Justin enjoyed a romantic trip to Europe in June 2011, posting gorgeous photos from France, Monaco, and Italy on Jesse's Twitter. Yeah, we're jealous, too.
