So You Think You Can Dance

Cat Deeley Gets an Invite to Rocco DiSpirito’s Dinner Party, Gives Her Home a Makeover and More!

Famed chef Rocco DiSpirito has invited Cat Deeley to join him on his new Bravo series Rocco’s Dinner Party. Along with Rocco and several other celebrity guests, Cat will attend two dinner soirees and offer feedback on the food and atmosphere on a show airing Wed., July 27 at 9 p.m. ET. Additionally, Rocco is using Wednesday night’s broadcast to promote his latest “Watch & Win” contest; one lucky person and a guest will win a trip to NYC to aid Rocco at the October 2011 Wine and Food Festival. So, watch Cat test her skills as a food connoisseur and enter to win on Rocco’s Facebook.[Source: Press release]

Currently, Cat is remodeling her Los Angeles residence, so what is her inspiration? “It's going to be a bit like Alice in Wonderland,” she explained. "There will be fire pits, a pool cabana, and a hot tub with infinity edge. I want to invite people over and have dinners. I think I've grown up a bit.”

The renovations also include a room dedicated to her practice of yoga, as well as a Zen garden. Despite living in the U.S. for the past five years, Cat stalled on personalizing her L.A. home because London still feels like her true home — she thought she would always return to her apartment in Hampstead, England. However, since SYTYCD continues to flourish each season, she’s starting to realize that she’ll be in Hollywood for awhile. “I work really hard so I just thought it was time to create a place here that I love.” [Source: MSN News]

Cat’s move across an ocean and continent gave her a boost of confidence to take more risks in her career, she recently admitted. “I've always had a good dose of ambition and Hollywood has made me more fearless. I think if you feel too safe or secure, you become complacent,” she said.

Her latest endeavor: getting involved in the off-camera side of things, and producing a new BBC America show called Royally Mad. “I like challenging myself and I love anything I have to research. When I'm interviewing someone I'll collect every bit of information I can on them, so producing, where you're working on something from scratch, is fascinating for me. I definitely want to do more.” [Source: MSN News]
