“I was a little disappointed in the finale this evening," head judge Nigel Lythgoe vented to Wetpaint Entertainment after the performance show. "I can’t put my finger on everything of why. I think the shows in the past have been stronger than this week."
“The opening routine was a disappointment to me. Disco is full of energy and terrific, we are bringing Marko and Melanie back together again, I thought this was going to be a great opening routine. When it actually happened, he made her look heavy.”
And then came Sasha and Tadd's cha cha …
“We had Mark Ballas come from Dancing With the Starsto choreograph!" Lythgoe pointed out. "I certainly want these dancers to be better than the politicians and the sports stars that we have on there, and they weren’t."
“For a finale, I demand better. Each one of them redeemed themselves across the show and performed really well, but you want a hell of a high standard on this night,” Lythgoe concluded.
Despite the sub-par performances, the SYTYCD guru is confident that tonight's finale results show will showcase better dancing.
