American Idol

Release Dates Revealed: Lauren Alaina and Scotty McCreery to Debut Albums in October

Those American Idolers grow up fast! We’ve followed Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina since their very first AI audition and now the teens are becoming official recording artists. Scotty and Lauren have just released the premiere dates for their debut albums!

The singers took to their fan newsletters to announce the exciting news. Scotty revealed that his album, Clear As Day, will drop October 4. The record is “definitely country” and heavily inspired by down-home faves like Hank Williams, Conway Twitty, and Merle Haggard. But don’t think it’ll be all old-school country. The teen promises his record will have “a contemporary twist and feel that keeps it up to date.” Scotty says he wanted to record likable songs that were easy to relate to.

Meanwhile, Lauren Alaina’s debut record, Wildflower, will be released just a week later on October 11. She told fans, “I feel like it has a flavor for everybody... There are fast songs for people who like up-tempos that you can dance to, and there are also tearjerkers for people who like slower ballads. I tried to get songs that are all a little different so that we could bring a fresh feel to each and every song.”

So what’s the story behind the title Wildflower? Lauren says she considers herself a wildflower because she’s sweet and spunky. Too cute! The album also features a track called “She’s a Wildflower,” written by Steve McEwan, Hillary Lindsey, and Gordie Sampson.

It’s a long wait ‘til October, but you can pre-order the albums right now: Just head to Scotty McCreery’s official site and Lauren Alaina’s official site to pre-order their albums. We won’t judge any Idol junkies for grabbing both!
