Snooki Opens Up About Adoption

Even though the Jersey Shore cast is forever linked with all things Italian, not everyone on the cast has roots in Italia.

Snooki, one of the show’s most infamous cast mates and the most vocal admirer of “Italian gorilla juiceheads,” is actually ethnically Chilean and was adopted by her Italian-American parents at a very young age. The 23-year-old star recently opened up on the Johnjay and Rich radio show about her adoption story.

“I was adopted at six months from Chile,” Snooks tells the radio hosts. “[My biological parents] gave me up for a reason and I honestly love my parents. I have no desire to actually find out [about my biological parents].”

And the rest, as they say, is history. Snooki was adopted from the tumultous political climate of '80s Chile and jetted off to the glamorous world of upstate New York, where she eventually worked her way up to reality star status.

Snooki isn’t the only guidette who isn’t 100% Italian. JWOWW is only part Italian and has roots in Spain and Ireland, and Ronnie is actually half Puerto Rican and half Italian. Maybe this explains why so few of the cast members knew Italian when they traveled to Italy!

In any case, we wonder if Snooki’s biological parents know that their little girl is famous in the United States for partying front of MTV's cameras. Oh, how different our world would have been if Snooks stayed in Chile!
