The Secret Life of an American Teenager’s Alice Valko is nothing if not consistent. She has always been the person you go to for sound advice, blunt commentary and the odd statistical fact.
But there’s a little bit of change on the horizon, says Amy Rider, who portrays the brainy student.

“My character starts to go a different way than anyone's ever seen before,” reveals Rider in an exclusive interview with Wetpaint Entertainment.
For anyone worrying that future episodes will be "Alice Gone Wild," fret not.
“No, no. I think she's going always be the voice of reason,” says Rider. “I can't see her taking drugs any time soon.”

Rider describes the change as “growth”. “I think it's a great storyline,” she says.
“And I'm really happy because I feel like it's going to be growth for her, as a character and just in life in general. Everyone on the show is growing up and they're going to be going to college soon. So everyone's just making big life changes.”
Speaking of life changes, there will be some serious drama on the midseason finale of Secret Life. “I can say that there's definitely some very juicy stuff that comes out of nowhere,” Rider tells us.

“I’m sworn to secrecy, but I'll just say this: When I read it, I immediately got on the phone. I called Allen [Evangelista, who plays Henry], and then I called Francia [Raisa, who plays Adrian]. Everybody on set was talking about it. We were like, ‘Are you kidding me? That's not true!"
"And we were all going back and forth, like, ‘No, no, no. Let me talk to Brenda [Hampton, the show creator]. Like seriously?’ It's definitely one of those things that got all of us gasping. Like, you're joking. But, no. It happened.”
Curious? We sure are! Guess we’ll have to wait for September 5.
