It's been a wild summer, but all good things must come to an end. We've been counting down the days until autumn approaches with a heady mix of end-of-summer tracks on heavy rotation in our iTunes. From Beyonce to Adele (with Pretty Little Liars' Lucy Hale thrown in for good measure), these songs capture these blissful last days of summer and the wistful first days of fall.
Beyonce - Countdown
A blustery summer track to get you shakin’ your tailfeather on the dancefloor, but with the melancholy edge that’s made Beyonce’s latest album so compulsively listenable. “Countdown” is the perfect combination of light and dark.
Neon Hitch - Bad Dog
New pop star on the block Neon Hitch has been causing a ton of buzz with her big pop sound and zany style. Her official first single “Bad Dog” is a gleefully grimy ode to a very bad boy.
The Stunners - Dancin’ Around the Truth
This high-gloss teen-pop mope-a-thon (featuring The Lying Game’s Allie Gonino) from now-defunct teen pop outfit The Stunners is as slick as they come.
David Guetta - Titanium [feat. Sia]
Anthemic for summer yet gloomy enough to transition into fall, expect house king David Guetta’s latest (featuring indie-pop songbird Sia), to be a staple on the dancefloor well into 2012.
Adele - Rumor Has It
You heard Queen Adele’s bluesy “Rumor Has It” all summer on the promos for The Lying Game. Transition into a mellower time of year with this jazzy number on repeat all fall.
Rihanna - Cheers
Rihanna’s world domination continues unrivaled, and “Cheers” certainly won’t be the thing to break her winning streak. Here's an anthem to partying away the “freakin’ weekend” with an unusual Avril Lavigne sample — this one is sure to top the charts.
Lucy Hale - Run This Town
We were waiting for Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale to show off her vocal chops, and that’s just what she’s done in debut single “Run This Town,” which is a celebratory track from her recent movie A Cinderella Story. Goofy, glittery, and fun, it’s a great summer buzz song.
Jessie J - Domino
This newest single from “Price Tag” powerhouse Jessie J is a storming slice of Dr. Luke power-pop.
Keri Hilson - Lose Control
If you were watching So You Think You Can Dance this season, you couldn't miss Keri Hilson's electrifying performance on the show. "Lose Control" is a bangin' midtempo with just enough sex appeal to keep it interesting. Shake, wind, and roll!
