Will Adrian’s Graduation Hook-Up Last? Francia Raisa Reveals Exclusive Scoop!
The last five minutes of The Secret Life of the American Teenager’s fourth season managed to turn everything on its head.
Not all of it was bad: Ricky and Amy are engaged, while Ben found a new girl to take his mind of his messy year. But then Jesse slept with Madison, and Henry (gasp!) slept with Adrian, in a move that will not go over well with his best buddy, Ben.
“He’s not mad at Adrian, though. He’s mad at Henry,” Francia Raisa told Wetpaint Entertainment exclusively on Fashion’s Night Out at Westfield in Century City.
Although her character took the entire event in stride, Francia herself had a hard time getting through the scene with co-star Allen Evangelista.
“I was grossed out because the guy that I end up sleeping with is like my older brother, so I was like, ‘This is incest! Please don’t make me kiss him because I will cry and I will beg and plead not to do it,’” she tells us.
“I almost got into a car accident because my friend called me to tell me [about the scene], and I was like, ‘AHH! No!’”
Thankfully, neither Francia or Adrian have to dwell on the one-nighter. “We are not going to be a couple,” she reveals.
That goes for most of the hook-ups from that party as well. “Everyone is fighting with each other now. Nothing sticks [from that night].”
Instead Adrian will reunite with Omar, who left her at the graduation party after watching her smooch Ricky. The question is, for how long?
“You know, she probably will have fun with him for five minutes and then try to move on,” laughs Francia. “But she’s 18, she just got divorced. I would have some fun if I were her.”
Despite rumors that some characters might be leaving the show, Francia is quick to tell us that to her knowledge the regular cast members aren’t going anywhere.
“There’s no one leaving. We’re all staying. They’re leaving high school,” she clarifies. “People have graduated and there’s new people coming into the high school.”
If those people look eerily like your favorite Secret Life characters, it’s no coincidence. “Brenda [Hampton] was doing a pilot for ABC Family and the characters she created for that pilot were brought into the show,” says Francia. “I guess there was a version of each one of us on the new show, and now they’re with us. It keeps the show a little juicy.”
