About the Sprout! Emily Deschanel on Her Vegan Pregnancy
Looks like all the grown-up girl glossies are salivating for more insight into Emily Deschanel (Brennan)’s vegan pregnancy! Even as she’s mired in the third trimester, with all the cravings that time period entails, Emily’s finding it “surprisingly not difficult” to stick to almond butter and the like, she tells FitPregnancy magazine (via The Insider).
But don’t think she isn’t without her weaknesses; she’s finding it a challenge to resist two food items in particular: lemonade and chocolate.“The real challenge for a vegan,” Deschanel reveals, “is getting vitamin B12 and omega-3s, but you can get those in a vegetarian supplement.”
We’ve discussed this in the past; and according to our poll, a bit more than two-fifths of you thought Deschanel’s vegan pregnancy was a “good idea,” with another third not caring one way or another. That seems to be Emily’s stance too. She says there’s no one way to do this whole parenting thing, ultimately advising first-timers to simply “trust your instincts.”
It’s good to hear mom and baby are doing well — and back at work.
