America's Next Top Model

Exclusive! Brittany Brower Was Shocked by Her ANTM All-Stars Elimination

Brittany Brower isn’t holding back after being the first contestant eliminated from America’s Next Top Model All-Stars last night. We caught up with an upbeat-yet-defiant Brittany the day after she was kicked off the show, even though the live audience practically booed Alexandria off the stage. In this exclusive Wetpaint Entertainment interview, Brittany calls BS on Tyra Banks’ statement that fans didn’t remember her, tells us what it was like to keep her first-round elimination a secret, and who she wants to see go all the way on Cycle 17.

How are you feeling?
Oh, I mean you know, whatever. I was confused then, I’m confused now. I don’t think anything’s going to change that and I’ll probably never get the answer. But I really want to know what really happened because I don’t buy the whole no one remembered me kind of thing. They were like completely yelling my name out at L.A. Live. So I think it’s kind of hysterical. Hey, but if you’re gonna make up a reason to bump me off, just make up one I guess. Tyra, it’s your show, do what you want with it.

Why would they have wanted to bump you off?
I have no idea. Honestly, I really don’t. I went out, I had tons of high energy. We’re basically being judged by how we were with the crowd and our photo. Nicki [Minaj], the guest judge, and everyone loved my photo. They said I’d love to hang out with you at a party. I had all great reviews all across the board. I came out with tons of high energy, which is typical me. That’s my personality, to come out and like, “It’s Brittany, bitch!” I rocked the crowd, I’m having fun. I’m like slapping their hands going down—completely, completely working the crowd. So to be quite honest with you, I knew I was not going home. [Laughs] It just goes to show you that you don’t ever know.

They said this cycle was all about branding, but it still came down to a photo and the runway. How do you feel about that?
I think I did both of them well, so that’s the age-old question. I have no idea. I really don’t know what I did wrong. I really don’t. The only thing [Tyra] tried to say was that when they asked the fans or whatever, no one said anything either way. I really want to know what fans they really asked. Like, are these make believe fans? Do these fans exist? Did they just ask one fan and one fan didn’t remember me? It’s really odd. Where is this poll coming from? Because the whole reason we got brought back to be possibly an All-Star was because we were fan favorites.

Are you glad you went back?
[Laughs] Sure. I’m really indifferent to be quite honest. It was fun, I had a good time with it. The girls are fun and I made some friends out of it.

What did you think when you found out the audience would be the fifth judge?
I loved that the audience was going to be there. I loved the energy, I loved the crowd. I love my fans. They’re so awesome and supportive of me. I still get comments and mail, way before I even did All-Stars. I get fan mail constantly, all the time saying, you know, “I loved you from Cycle 4. You’re an inspiration. You made me want to model.” I get stuff like that all the time so I was ecstatic to be in front of the fans.

Nicki Minaj and Tyra both loved your photo and no one even liked Alexandria’s. Did you get robbed?
I mean, yeah. It’s just odd. Doesn’t it seem kind of weird that someone who people are literally being like, “Get off the stage, bitch!” and booing as she walks down… But I guess they overlooked or they didn’t see or hear everyone going “Brittany!” and putting their hands up when I’m going down the stage. Can we re-watch that footage and watch the crowd because that seems really odd. I’m sorry, I never heard out in the crowd while I was standing there going, “Who is this? Who is she?”

We spoke to you last week and we would never have suspected a thing. Has it been hard to keep the secret?
Oh, definitely. I definitely had to keep my mouth shut. It has been tough, especially with family and friends, tons of fans. You know, everybody would call me and they were like, “Oh my god, you’re the only reason I’m watching the show! I love you! You rocked on Cycle 4. I can’t wait to watch you.” And all my friends were like, “I’ve got it Tivo’ed. I can’t wait to see you!” And I’m sitting their with my nails digging in, and inside of me going, “Well, make sure you catch that first episode or you might miss me.”

Were you psyched to get back to your modeling workshop?
Absolutely. That’s one reason I’m sitting here going, “Oh my God, I can’t believe this is my last chance to do something with myself! I got kicked off Top Model 17!” No, I’m fine. I have a medical spa that’s extremely successful, DMH Aesthetics, and my models—Brittany Brower Models. That keeps me in the industry. I’m always part of training the girls, I love to teach. I thrive off that. That’s the kind of stuff in life that makes me happy. I’m also getting really into my [TV] hosting. I just did this whole hosting boot camp this past weekend. I had more fun in those two days than anything else, because I’m really, really training myself and taking it to the next level of perfecting my craft. I’m really not upset. I’m just like, okay, next chapter.

Are you as big of a party girl as the show made you out to be?
Well, in Cycle 4, yeah. I was 22 years-old. I wanted to have a drink and have a crazy time. I was so young, not that I’m that old now — let’s keep it real. I still love going out. I’m huge people person. And I don’t even mean going out partying, but just being social. I love going to events. I love getting dressed up. I’m a girl. That’s not gonna change no matter how old I get. I don’t want to stay at home and watch TV, I want to be out and live my life. And that’s still 100 percent who I am. [Laughs] But you’re not going to see me on Celebrity Rehab anytime soon!

How did your friends and family take the news last night?
Oh, they’re just bummed. Your family and friends are always going to be so biased, but I like to think it’s the truth, not bias. They know I’m strong person. They’re just all like, “Wow. I can’t believe it. Wow.” They’re just shocked.

What's next for you?
I’m about to start doing my own little web series. It’s going to be called “Topped Off” because, hello, first off bitch right here. It’s going to be on my website Brittanybrower.com. So I’m going to start there and start doing a lot more stuff online and, you know, hopefully I’m going to have my own show. Move over, Tyra, I got this. I mean, if anything [the elimination] just drives me even more to prove everyone wrong. I’m not someone who’s gonna have one “No” and go, “Okay, I guess I’m done.” Hell no. I’m here to stay.

Who would you like to see win?
Oh, one-hundred percent Lisa [D’Amato]. Absolutely. I love her, which you couldn’t tell from the first episode. They didn’t even show us together. We had so many more shenanigans and so much other fun stuff I can’t believe they didn’t air any of it! I know they have a lot of stuff to put on the premiere episode, but really? We had alter egos, we made up characters, we did all kinds of crazy stuff together and I absolutely love and adore her. So I was definitely bummed and going, “What? Where’s Peggy-Sue and Sharita?”—those were our characters’ names. But, yeah, I’m rooting for Lisa all the way.
