Of course the Glee girls looked gorgeous on the 2011 Emmy red carpet, but were they everything they could have been? Celebrity stylist Lindsay Albanese has worked with several of the ladies on Fox’s hit show — and has previously dressed on-air Emmy talent from Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, and E! — so we thought we’d get her take on the lovely Gleeks’ looks in this exclusive Wetpaint Entertainment interview!
“Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina) was my favorite. She usually looks really girly and she usually has soft hair — and she tends to pick more romantic-type girly things. I think she went kind of sexy and edgy and she had the severe hair. I thought it really suited her. She looked very fashion-forward. And I loved the pop of color, the red clutch that she carried. She really played with her style. It was very youthful but still sexy.”
“Naya Rivera (Santana) looked very statuesque and beautiful. But I just think she’s so young and her character is so fun and — just because I’ve worked with her in the past — she has such a fun personality. I just thought that the dress, although gorgeous, was a little too… it wasn’t as playful and fun as I would like to see her in. It was gorgeous and she looked flawless but I would have liked to see her in a color or something unique.”
“Lea Michele (Rachel) was one of my Best Dressed. I think that that gown fit her perfectly and I think that it was definitely unique in the detail of the shoulders and the drama in the back. I really love it because if you’re going to do a slip gown, I think this is the way you’ve gotta do it. This was definitely something a little bit more fashion forward. It was really sophisticated and elegant, but still very funky and glamorous.”
“I felt that Dianna Agron (Quinn), although beautiful, I felt that was a strange gown choice for her. It was slightly grown up and a little bit too conservative of a look for her. Especially with her new hair change, how she chopped her hair, I think everybody was expecting something maybe a little bit more exciting from her. Although the gown was a vibrant, gorgeous, royal blue color, I think that viewers probably would have loved to see her in something a little more interesting.”
