Spoilers! Steven R. McQueen on Why Jeremy Ain’t Afraid of No Ghosts
In real life, seeing dead people would probably be exceptionally frightening. But in Mystic Falls, having supernatural visitors isn’t just ordinary, it might also have some perks for the visitee.
Steven R. McQueen (Jeremy) thinks his character’s haunting could be good for him. McQueen explains that since his character has “lost everyone he’s ever loved ... possibly having some connection with the dead lifts a weight off his shoulder and adds more of a level of curiosity rather than fear.” This is a guy whose last two exes were vampires, whose sister is dating a true Ripper, and who has died and come back to life (multiple times). If anyone shouldn’t be afraid of ghosts, it’s Jeremy Gilbert.
So, the real question is, how will girlfriend Bonnie (Kat Graham) react to the invited bloodsucking babes in Jeremy’s life? "At the end of the day, they really care about each other," McQueen says of BerJer’s relationship. In other words, Bonnie isn’t threatened by the ghosts of girlfriends past, either.
