Kris Humphries: “Worried for the Game” of Basketball
Kris Humphries has had one helluva year. A first-rate season with the NBA, followed by a fantasy wedding to an A-List socialite? Yeah. That actually happened.
Now, the glitter has settled and Kris, wife Kim and sister Kourtney are living it up in the Big Apple, filming the second season of Kardashian spin-off Kourtney and Kim Take New York.
While Kim and her famous brood are used to the limelight, we can’t exactly say the same for the Minnesota-native. How does Kris feel about his new, crazy life in front of the lens?
Actually, Kris tells Sports Illustrated that he enjoys the cameras. “[Filming is] cool because all of us are in it together,” he says, adding that it’s “different” and “isn't necessarily something” he saw himself doing. (You mean little boys don’t grow up with the dream of becoming reality stars? Coulda fooled us.)
Even with all the fame (and fortune – the Kardashian-Humphries reportedly pulled in $18 million from that dream wedding!), Kris is very dedicated to this athletic career and continues to train every day. “Luckily I play basketball first –that's my career first, so this [reality TV stuff] isn't really what I do,” he says. “I don't know if I could do it if it was the only thing I was doing.”
It’s always good to have options though, right? This free agent might be doing just that
The NBA’s current lockout sitch – which may mean the league has a delayed start, or skips an entire season – is definitely causing Kris some anxiety. He says, “I'm worried for the game,” and adds that though he hasn’t yet thought about playing overseas, “it's logical for everyone to explore other options.”
