LeAnn Rimes on Brandi Glanville’s Kids: I’m Not Just Their Stepmom
LeAnn Rimes might not have any children of her own, but Eddie Cibrian’s new wife feels like a mom anyway.
Rimes married Cibrian — Brandi Glanville’s ex-husband — in April, after the two were involved in an affair while both were still married. Now, the couple lives happily together, and Rimes has a few things to say about raising his children.
"Society will always call me a stepmom... but in our house, in our family, we remove the 'step.'" Rimes wrote in her blog. "We really are all...simply family."
Rimes grew up in a “blended family” and says she’s “now blindly but optimistically navigating [her] way through the blended family mom role.” The 29-year-old country star adds: "A family is a family. In my eyes. There's no 'step' about it."
Apparently, Cibrian wants Rimes to think about their family unit (which, of course, includes the boys’ real mom, Brandi Glanville) that way.
"Eddie has always encouraged me to look at us as a family,” she says. “and a part of our family are the two beautiful boys that we share with their mother and hopefully one day another wonderful man.”
Of course, these two women have had their fair share of blowouts, made obvious through their heated Twitter wars. Then, in May, when Brandi was rumored to be filming for RHoBH, Rimes forbid her hubby and his kids from appearing on the Bravo reality show with Brandi.
Rimes insists she will “never replace” Brandi in her boys’ lives and “would never try,” but says she’ll do whatever she can to “raise them in a loving, safe and proper environment."
