Last night's episode of The X Factor featured Simon squaring off with the only judge he had yet to fight with: Nicole Scherzinger. First he threw her under the bus telling a less-than-spectacular contestant who auditioned with "Big Spender" that she reminded him of young Nicole auditioning for a singing competition.
Of course, Nicole fired back to look her up on Youtube — she actually did audition for a show called Popstars and sang Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You," which she treated Simon to a taste of with a few awesomely belty bars.
Tiah Tolliver, 19, was the next point of contention between Sico and his new lady nemesis. Nicole called the contestant out on her inability to pick a key and stick with it while Simon really believed in her star power. Both Paula and Nicole gave Tiah a definitive no, but after Simon threw a hissy fit (and his Pepsi cup), the judges agreed to let her sing one more song.
"This is insane," Simon complained. "You two are not giving this girl a chance."
Eventually, Nicole let the boss-man win and begrudgingly agreed to let Tiah through to the next round.
Needless to say, Simon seemed very happy to have L.A. Reid alongside him on the panel last night.
