Luckily when Wetpaint Entertainmentchecked in with the talented Ukrainian pro dancer to nurse his ego and hand him a Kleenex, we were delighted to hear that he is doing just fine.
“I love the show,” Val told us in an exclusive interview.
“DWTS is my family. I will be loyal to the show simply because they believed in me and gave me a chance.”
Not only is he excited to support the remaining cast (including his brother, DWTS pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy), but he wants to return again next season. We know DWTS fans would love to see him in the ballroom next season!
“They've catapulted my profession, ballroom dancing, to the very pinnacle of American entertainment. I'm grateful. If they ask me back I will most likely be back.”
Val said he’s been getting really good feedback from fans since he and partner Elisabetta Canalis voted off.
“It’s been positive. One’s legacy is written by the impressions that they leave. I take my job seriously."
“Everything that comes out of my mouth is with the best intentions, and every action I make I answer for,” he revealed.
“My short-lived participation on DWTS managed to leave some really positive impressions. If I can inspire a person to get up and take on a challenge, I've already succeeded.”
“I'm grateful for all my fans and, even more so, for all my haters,” he said, although we find it hard to believe that he has any of them!
