Grey's Anatomy

Grey’s Anatomy Spoilers: Why Is George’s Mom Returning?

As we previously spoiled, our favorite, albeit deceased, intern George O'Malley's (TR Knight) mom (played by Debra Monk) is slated to make a return to Grey's Anatomy, and we've got the latest scoop on what she's doing.

Mama O'Malley will roll into Grey’s on Season 8, Episode 8: "Heart-Shaped Box" (November 3) to have a botched surgery she received at another hospital corrected. Silly Mrs. O'Malley: Doesn't she know every leading surgeon in the entire world works at Seattle Grace-Mercy West?

Oh, and you can bet on the docs lovefesting over George with Mrs. O'Malley around, even if we won't see a ghostie flashback. We think it's pretty safe to assume the episode will end with us laugh-crying into our glass of Cabernet.

Plus, we know a bit more about Anthony Johnson's transplant surgeon guest role, we think. This episode will also feature some sort of groundbreaking surgery (natch) that involves a harvested heart continuing to beat outside of a body. We bet Anthony's character has something to do with it.

A new peds fellow is in town, which, of course, Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) is excited about and Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) is threatened it'll be a grumpy Karev episode. And Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) starts to let his paranoia over Mark Sloan (Eric Dane) and Lexie Grey (Chyler Leigh) affect his work.

Oh, yeah, and then there's this whole thing with Henry (Scott Foley) and Teddy Altman (Kim Raver) getting into a fight because Henry wants to go to med school? Henry. Babe. We love you. We really do. But that's just crazy talk. (Teddy clearly has to win this one, right?)

Grey’s Anatomy Season 8, Episode 8 "Heart-Shaped Box" airs November 3 at 9 pm ET/PT on ABC.
