Castle Review: What Did You Think of Season 4, Episode 5: “Eye of the Beholder”
Tonight's episode of Castle was a breath of fresh air, especially after the highly emotional return of 3XK last week. Detective Ryan returned to his regular post as Esposito's wise-cracking bro-kick, while Castle and Beckett took their rightful place center stage. And what a show they put on!
Well, more like what a show he put on. Castle practically had Serena Kaye eating strawberries out of the palm of his hand, but in the end, this sexy pro thief-turned-insurance investigator wasn't able to steal his affection. You heard her — she doesn't take things that don't belong to her.
Unfortunately, the same can't be said for our Botoxed benefactor, Joy McHugh. This snooty socialite had guilty written all over her permanently-surprised face the moment she marched into the 12th precinct. (OK, fine, we may be just a tad biased after watching Jessica Tuck's head explode as the villainous Nan Flanagan on True Blood.)
Although it was a bit predictable (we've seen The Thomas Crown Affair at least 20 times, no lie), this episode had everything we've come to know and love about Castle: a captivating storyline, a super sexy guest star, and a whole lot o' Caskett moments. Plus, seeing Kate's feathers get ruffled was probably worth as much as the "Fist of Capitalism."
What do you think, Castle fans? Did Season 4, Episode 5: "Eye of the Beholder" manage to steal your heart?
