Although the couple have officially been divorced since February 2011, the two are still working out the who-gets-what. Kelsey and Camille never signed a prenup, so they’ve had a hard time divvying up their (supposedly) shared fortune.
Kelsey Grammer made about $1.6 million an episode toward the end of his 11-year stint as Dr. Crane on Frasier — making him the highest paid actor on TV at the time — and without that handy little marriage document to protect him, his former wife is technically entitled to half the earnings he made during their 14 years of marriage. And that’s not something either of the Grammers are going to give up without a fight!
A close friend of Kelsey’s tells the Huffington Post that “it has never been about the money” for the actor. “He wants to make sure his children's future is protected as best as possible and wants this to come to an end so he can move on with his life,” the insider continues. “Goodness knows, 50 percent of what he had is still a huge amount of money. He just wants to do what's fair and protect his children."
New York Live host Jane Hanson, who spoke with Kelsey last week, concurred, saying he told her “he intends to do what's best for his children and that he feels it's very close to a resolution.”
We guess that means one of two things: either Kelsey’s finally agreed to cut Camille a hefty chunk of change (for the kids sake), or she’s finally given up trying to argue it out of him!
