Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Power Rankings for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 2, Episode 8: “The Opposite of Relaxation”

Who’s livin’ large and who’s been relegated to the pool house? We rank The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for Episode 8, “The Opposite of Relaxation,” in our weekly Power Rankings. Let the countdown begin!

Ranking: 8
Last week: 8
Here’s why: Another week, another last-place finish for Dana. (That’s right — this makes four in a row!) And we didn’t have much choice this week, since Dana was virtually nonexistent, with the exception of that silly comment to Brandi about looking like she’s in surgery. It turns out that Dana isn’t impressing us, regardless of whether her hair has recently been straightened or not.

Here’s why: Kim, Kim, Kim — where do we even start? Ultimately, we wish that Kim would at least acknowledge her role in starting the game night skirmish, instead of just claiming that she preferred Camille on her team. (Uh, since when are Kim and Camille besties?) If nothing else, let’s just hope that Kim manages to reduce the number of times she calls someone a “piranha” in future episodes.

Here’s why: We’re pleased that Kyle made an effort to clear things up with Brandi, unlike some people (*cough* Kim). But we kinda agree with Brandi that she was made into the scapegoat, since Kyle and Kim never had to apologize for saying that Brandi looked slutty and insulting her outfit. But we’ll throw Kyle some bonus-points-by-association for that scene with Mauricio and Portia in their pool, acting as cute as ever. (Hey, Portia: We want to be a mermaid, too!)

Here’s why: We're still not sure how we feel about Brandi, so we have yet to place her in the top half of the Power Rankings. But now that this ugly incident is behind us (pretty please!), we look forward to seeing how Brandi acts under less tortured circumstances. Let’s just hope that Brandi can remember the growing list of topics that are off limits for her: She can’t talk about Kim, or Cedric, or make jokes about Dana’s fiance, or use a certain word for “penis,” or...

Here’s why: Usually, we applaud Adrienne’s knack for keeping the peace. This week’s situation wasn’t quite as black-and-white, however, since she somehow made Brandi feel like all the blame was on her, even though that shouldn’t quite have been the case. And given all the tanning equipment Adrienne owns, she shouldn’t be surprised if George Hamilton happens to pop in unannounced one of these days...

Here’s why: We don’t really know what to make of Brandi’s drug accusations about Kim, but it was nice to see that Taylor at least had Kim’s back in that regard, despite the drama between the two of them last year. And after the stress of the spa day, we wouldn’t be surprised if the ladies wish that they had just stayed home and spent the day finger-painting with their kids.

Here’s why: We like that Lisa fervently supports her friend Kyle in the dust-up (and Lisa wasn’t at game night, so we can’t really expect her to be impartial). Plus, any scene involving one of Lisa’s kooky friends is always good for a few laughs, so of course her visit this week to Mohamed’s home (which is roughly the size of Rhode Island) was no exception. Who could say no to a camel?

Here’s why: We continue to worry about under-the-surface tension between Kyle and Camille, but for now, Camille is impressing us with her maturity. And we couldn’t help but be proud of our little Camille for slowly getting back in the game and trying to flirt a bit with that waiter, including her line about how she’s trying to gain weight (which is a “humblebrag” if we’ve ever heard one!).
