The Double, Puss in Boots, The Rum Diary: Wetpaint Entertainment’s Sexy-Not Sexy Weekend Movie Guide, 10/28

Got any weekend plans? How about a movie? Here's the scoop on three flicks opening Friday, October 28.

The Double

When a U.S. senator is murdered, all signs point to a legendary Soviet assassin who has long been presumed dead. In order to get to the bottom of this baffling crime, retired CIA operative Paul Sheperdson (Richard Gere) teams up with a rookie, Ben Geary (Topher Grace).
Sexy: Trubies will swoon over Stephen Moyer (Bill) with a Russian accent
Not sexy: When did Richard Gere get so old?
Verdict: Don't watch the trailer if you don't want a major spoiler — and don't go see this if you care about what reviewers have to say.

Puss in Boots

The Shrek franchise finally gives the fans what they want: more Antonio Banderas! Puss in Boots takes place before the adorable kitten meets the green ogre, back when he first becomes a hero. The animated flick follows his exciting adventures with Kitty Softpaws (Selma Hayek) and Humpty Dumpty (Zach Galifanakis).
Sexy: Antonio Banderas and Selma Hayek pairing up again!
Not sexy: It is a cartoon...
Verdict: This family-friendly comedy is critic-approved, so grab the kiddos in your life and give them a real treat this Halloween weekend.

The Rum Diary

Based on Hunter S. Thompson's debut novel of the same name, The Rum Diary is about a journalist named Paul Kemp (Johnny Depp) who escapes the chaos of New York to travel to Puerto Rico... where he finds himself drunk and in even more chaos.
Sexy: Johnny Depp, duh
Not sexy: Drunk dudes
Verdict: The last time Johnny Depp took on a Hunter S. Thompson character — in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas — the results were pure magic. This could be a great pick for date night!
