Len just wants the pros to be nice to their partners so HE can be the one to raise his voice and get frustrated. For the two dances of Week 8, Len had nothing but kind things to say about Hope and Maks, instead turning his aggression on fellow judges Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli.
First Hope and Maks had their Quickstep, which all the judges adored. Len agreed with his peers this time, saying it was Hope’s best dance: “You fulfilled your potential.” She got straight 9s, her best score to date.
Later in the night, Grumpy Len came out in passionate defense of Hope and Maks’ Instant Jive. Bruno and Carrie Ann found fault with her knees and hands, but Len only found fault with the two judges. “This was fantastic!” he shouted while pointing at Hope and Maks, screaming more compliments like, “It was everything a Jive should be! Full-on! Flicks! Kicks! Energy!” as the crowd cheered. He finished by standing up and screaming “It was bloody brilliant!”
In the Celebriquarium, host Brooke Burke-Charvet asked about “the judge in the middle” and his gushing comments. “Len has always been a teammate of mine,” Hope said as Maks made a funny face. But when Brooke asked if there was a kiss from Maks, he paused, turned around and said “Thank you, Len. I love you, Len!”
