Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Kim Richards’ Prescription Drugs: What Are They Used to Treat?

When Kim Richards sat down with Paul Nassif to discuss the possibility of some minor cosmetic procedures in Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 2, Episode 10, he asked her some routine medical questions. As she listed the prescription medicines she’s taking, it sounded like a pharmacist taking inventory: Lexapro (anti-anxiety), Trazadone (antidepressant), and Topamax (an anti-seizure medication sometimes used to treat alcoholism).

The good doctor seemed familiar with all the meds and explained that when used in combination, they can affect behavior. "It's going to make you slur your words a little bit. It's going to make you out of it. I've had patients who come in on two or three of these combined, and I thought they were drunk," said Paul. It certainly explains a lot of Kim’s recent behavior, though some of it is just kooky Kim through and through. She promised Dr. Nassif that she knew the dangers of mixing the prescriptions and alcohol. (Kim, who recently underwent a very short stint in rehab, said she hadn’t had a drop to drink in quite awhile.)

Whew! We are so glad Brandi Glanville’s crystal meth accusations now seem to be way off base.
