Kirsten Dunst Says Lars Von Trier Ran Around Naked on Melancholia Set
Kirsten Dunst has never been one to shy away from working with eccentric industry players (such as director Michel Gondry, in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), or taking on oddball roles (Torrance Simpson, spastic cheerleader in Bring it On). But even she of indie glory finds the habits and quirks of her Melancholia directer Lars von Trier, well, weird.
Lars’ now-infamous sympathetic comments towards Hitler were made while Kirsten was sitting right next to him at a press conference in Cannes — and, as she tells Conan O'Brien last night (Thursday), that wasn’t the only time being around him made her physically uncomfortable. She said, “he likes to give everyone a little pat on the butt. Everyone gets that... Sometimes he likes to pull his pants down and make everyone laugh.”
After Conan rightfully said how unfortunate it is that pulling down one’s pants causes uproarious laughter, Kiki elaborated: “Once on set, it was raining...and he decides to pull his pants down and run around a bit.”
Hey, whatever makes your actors, um, comfortable, right?
