Tough Love Star: Kim Kardashian Should Stay Single, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Won’t Last! — Exclusive

On his hit VH1 dating series, Tough Love, matchmaker Steve Ward doesn’t hold back when it comes to dispensing brutally honest advice on matters of the heart. Off-screen, he also has a few choice words for the world’s most notorious, newly-single bachelorette, Kim Kardashian. Should she try to reconcile with Kris Humphries to win back her fan base or move full speed ahead with the divorce? And what about Kim’s ex Reggie Bush, who may or may not be back in the picture? Steve shared his thoughts exclusively with Wetpaint Entertainment.

The only thing that’s going to save Kim’s reputation, says Steve, is for Kim to take a long break from men. “She really needs to work on herself,” he says. “That’s the best thing for her heart and her image. And if she did end her marriage for Reggie, she can’t get back together with him right now. It’s not a smart move and it won’t last. That relationship already ended — twice! — for good reason and whatever problems or issues they had in the past aren’t going to magically disappear just because she was married for 72 days and then ended it. Stay single, Kim!”

Meanwhile, Gossip Girl starlet Blake Lively and her new boytoy Ryan Reynolds, who’s 11 years her senior, may be hot and heavy at the moment, but Steve says they’d be wise to put off any planned trips to the tattoo parlor together. “This is not going to go the distance,” Steve states. “Ryan is going to get bored with her soon. She’s too young and has too little life experience to keep his attention for long.”

While we had his ear, we asked Steve how to solve one of television’s thorniest romance problems: the health of relationships on the Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise. With a few notable exceptions, couples who unite on the show usually end up in splitsville -- and sometimes those break-ups are nasty. Steve says the solution lies in better casting — and perhaps a new format. “They need to find two groups of people — a set of bachelors and a set of bachelorettes — who are truly looking for love, not just for the chance to be on television.” Nor should they be there for the chance of a hefty payday — à la Bachelor Pad. Says Steve: “Those types of motives might make for great TV drama, but they won’t make for a long-term love match.” But Holly and Blake, who got together on Bachelor Pad, may just prove the skeptics wrong!

Tune in to see Steve and his mom JoAnn lay down the law on Tough Love: The Wards Get Real, premiering this Sunday at 8 pm on VH1. To follow Steve on Twitter, go to @stevenbward
