Bones Season 7, Episode 2: “The Hot Dog in the Competition” – The Top 3 Moments
There was so much Bones to love in Season 7’s second episode, but (beyond the obvious) what were the best moments? Here’s our take:
1. At the very beginning, we can’t help thinking that the body discovery in this episode qualifies for “best moment.” After years of seeing people shocked, horrified, and screaming at the dead bodies, it was strikingly funny to see the landlady peer at the festering corpse, squint her beady eyes, and say, “Someone’s not getting their security deposit back.”
2. When Brennan (Emily Deschanel) tackles Brian Tobin, the competitive eating coach, all we can think is “Wow.” We know from executive producer Hart Hanson that thoroughly pregnant Emily Deschanel insisted on doing as much of her own work as she possibly could, and we really can’t imagine a woman eight months pregnant wanting to do anything close to this strenuous. Emily, you get a gold star for dedication!
3. Finally, we can’t help getting the warm ‘n’ fuzzies when Brennan has that pep talk with Finn. It’s very cool to think that Brennan, even though she’s a robot, managed to do some work that touched another human being — in this case, one of her papers spurred Finn to use his incredible intelligence to help catch criminals instead of becoming one himself. “I took [your paper] as a sign from above,” Finn says, “keep me on the straight ‘n’ narrow. Ain’t so much as talked in church since.” How adorable!
That’s it for this week! Got any moments to add as this week’s best? Let us know!
