Glee Star Appointed to President’s Obama’s Committee
Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) may be invading Congress on Glee, but her token clip-board-wielding assistant, Becky Jackson, has bigger fish to fry. Lauren Potter, the actress who plays Becky, has been newly appointed to President Obama's Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities.
Even more impressive? Lauren was appointed by Obama himself!
The Prez — who has some major gleeks in his family — handpicked the 21 citizen members of the committee to advise him and the Secretary of Health and Human Services on the state of individuals with intellectual disabilities, including homeownership, education, and workplace integration issues for a one-year period.
Says the President of Lauren and the other committee members, "I am grateful that these talented and dedicated individuals have agreed to take on these important roles and devote their talents to serving the American people. I look forward to working with them in the coming months and years."
