Matt Grant's ex-fiancee, Shayne Dahl "Monkey" Lamas-Richie just gave birth to a daughter named Press. But what has Matt been up to since The Bachelor: London Calling aired in 2008? We know Matt and Shayne are not exactly best friends at this point, so we don't expect Matt to be named Press's godfather, or anything.
During E!’s “The Bachelor: Then & Now” special last year, Matt ripped into his Season 12 chosen one, saying "Did I find true love on the show? Um, no. Not one little bit. I proposed to a woman who was about a foot and a half shorter than me, who had nothing in common with me, and thought there were palm trees in London. Did I make a mistake? Yes. Did I look like an idiot? Yes. Do I regret it? A little bit.”
Shayne didn't appreciate that and decided to "out" Matt in a blog post titled “Don’t Give Roses To A Scorpio”: "As I listen to Matt trash me on national television, I don’t understand why he’s saying this as if there was bad blood between us. We ended very amicably and I have never answered a question about Matt Grant since we split. Not the case for my EX. Matt milks his Bachelor experience whenever he can and is always trying to give a shock value type of answer so his name will stay in the press. What I don’t understand is why Matt hasn’t finally confessed that he is gay and the very first Gay Bachelor. Matt, your confession would be more press-worthy than trying to ride my coattails. I am happily married, so let it go. If only ABC would let him tell the truth about his sexuality, all parties involved would win."
Nice. At the time, Matt was talking up a new show called Pimp My Bride, and in January 2010 he told Reality TV World, "We're just in talks at the moment. Ideally I'd love it to be an ABC show because I think it complements The Bachelor so well. It's taking from when The Bachelor finishes and we're left with a future bride and groom. It's taking them from that step to then the next step, which is organizing a wedding."
We haven't heard too much about the show since then. Matt is an occasional tweeter (@mattgrant) where he describes himself as "Brit living in LA. Former financier & abc Bachelor. Now writer, photographer & fundraiser for www.flyingkitesglobal.org Love sports, fashion, music, & politics."
Just a few weeks ago Matt shot an ad for American Gentleman Magazine — which is a little weird since he's a British gentleman. Anyway, he seems very fond of his co-star in the ad, an actress named Jes Meza.
He tweeted on October 26, "seldom do you meet someone as cool, down to earth, fun and as beautiful as @msjesmeza." Watch that video below:
