The Situation Sues Abercrombie & Fitch for $4 Million — UPDATE

Remember when Abercrombie & Fitch made a big fuss by claiming they would pay The Situation to stop wearing their clothes on Jersey Shore? As quasi-embarrassing as it may have been for Mike, it looks like he may be getting the last laugh after all.

On Tuesday, Mike and the company he partnered with to copyright “The Situation,” MPS Entertainment, filed suit against the faux beachy brand for “using Sorrentino’s name, image and likeness to create brand awareness for its products by falsely claiming that [Abercrombie] had offered money to Sorrentino if he would stop wearing Defendant's goods.”

On top of that, Mike and his legal team are going after the brand for allegedly using the Sitch’s copyright without his permission. As we previously reported, Abercrombie sold t-shirts with featuring the phrases “The Fitchuation” and “GTL (You Know The Deal).” The Sitch claims that, in effect, A&F was faking an association with Mike that he’d never authorized.

UPDATE: TMZ reports that The Sitch is seeking $4 million in damages. Clearly he was very hurt by the brand's use of his name!
