Jersey Shore Creator’s New Show Ditches Guidos In Favor of Wild Mamas
Move over, Housewives — there’s a new set of moms in the reality TV spotlight, and they wear even higher stilettos and even shorter hemlines.
VH1 has just ordered 10 episodes of the new “docu-style social experiment” called Mama Drama. And the series comes from the brilliantly twisted head of SallyAnn Salsano, who brought us the joys of Jersey Shore.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the cast will be made up of “moms who don’t want to grow up and their young adult daughters who they’d rather pal around with, than parent.” And judging from the cast photo, viewers will have plenty of eye candy. Not to mention some very awkward catfights.
SallyAnn describes the heightened sense of drama associated with the new show: “I couldn’t leave the control room because I could not believe what was happening before my eyes. At any second chaos could erupt, and most days it did. When there was a fight in that house, it wasn’t a regular reality show squabble — it was personal. Whoever was saying something was going after someone’s mother or daughter.”
Leave it to the Jersey Shore mastermind to come up with something that tops, well, Jersey Shore.
