Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with the Los Angeles Lakers star to get his prediction on who is going to take home the coveted disco ball trophy.
“I thought Hope Solo was going to win, but I think J.R. Martinez is going to win,” Artest a.k.a Meta World Peace told us in an exclusive interview at the Leona Lewis and Freinds Hopefield Benefit in Beverly Hills.
“He’s tough and he works hard. He’s at practice every day. He’s the fan favorite, he’s a war vet and he fights for America. He’s amazing,” gushed the NBA player.
When asked how he felt about his first experience on the show, Artest revealed he enjoyed the whole thing, despite being the first to get the boot.
“I think it was fun, I learned a lot and it was great experience. I wish I could have been on longer but it didn’t work out. I’ll be on the finale, so it’s kind of cool,” he explained.
We couldn’t talk to a basketball player and a DWTS alum without asking about Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries’ marriage meltdown, but Artest didn’t seem too heartbroken about it.
“I know the whole Kardashian family. That’s life, everybody breaks up sometimes. It’s alright,” he grinned.
As for rumors that his teammate, Matt Barnes, is dating Eve Longoria, Artest was as chilled about his response to that as well.
“They are both single, they can both date each other. I’d have to text Matt to see if it’s true.”
