Who Wore It Best Wednesdays: Taylor Swift in Reem Acra — Runway vs. Real Way
We’ve come to expect nothing less than head-turning looks from red carpet fashion master Taylor Swift. A fan of anything romantic and feminine with all-over sparkle, Tay once again called upon her trademark style for the 2011 American Music Awards.
Taylor — who took home the trophies for Favorite Female Country Artist, Country Album, and Artist of the Year — chose a gold beaded gown from Reem Acra’s Spring 2012 collection.
On the runway, the dress is decidedly luxurious, calling to mind Ginger Rogers in 1936. A lush fur capelet creates old-Hollywood glamour and upswept hair leaves an effortless mark.
For the November 20 AMAs, Taylor takes a fresher approach. While the gown itself is signature Swift, the styling of the outfit is not. Her stick-straight pony and nude glossy lips give the dress a youthful, modern vibe, while emerald drop earrings add a playful pop of color.
We’ve got to say, we’re pleasantly surprised by Taylor’s simplistic styling to such a glamorous dress. So as much as we love the runway’s fairytale allure, Swift gets our vote this time around.
Now it’s time for you to decide! Which look is better — the runway or the real way?
