As we watch and wonder why ohhh why they bother ― don’t they know better? UES ain’t somethin’ you can fake! ― Ivy’s real-life counterpart Kaylee DeFer offered some insight into the madness...

At the show’s party for their 100th episode last weekend, Kaylee told Entertainment Weekly, “[Ivy]’s really attached to the Van Der Woodsens and I think they’ve been more of a family than her real family ever has. It is an emotional roller-coaster for her. I think, you know, playing Charlie and trying to keep up with the vindictive role-playing is conflicting to her real character, Ivy, who has more values.”
So poor Chivy is just overwhelmed? Fair enough. We can see that in her poor, wide-eyed stare each week, after all. But VALUES? Ivy could, just, you know, TAKE OFF. She could say “Screw it!” and take Mama Carol down with her! But she ― now like good ol’ Max ― is after something.
And in Chivy’s case, we’ve a suspicion it’s just cousin S’ deadly wardrobe (and seriously, who can blame her!)...
As for Ivy’s chances at continuing love with Nate, DeFer was optimistic, saying “I hope [they can stay together]! They make a really cute couple!”
