What Are the X Factor USA Contestant’s Survival Songs?

As these X Factor results show become more familiar, they don't get any less heart-wrenching. Each week, we see the Bottom Two singing for their lives in a well-orchestrated, well-lit Survival Song performance. These are songs they have to practice every week in case they're on the chopping block, and they have to be good at them, but they hope they never have to sing them. Here's some insight from the Final 7 on how they approach this and how they'll deal with it if they have just one last shot at the judge's mercy.

Josh Krajcik: "My particular song that I’m doing is something I’ve done for years. Something I love. I’m hoping I don’t have to use it for a while, or at all, but that’s unlikely. I feel good about that. I don’t want to have to use it, but I think it would be fun."

Astro: "It's a different song [than when he sang for survival on Rock Week]. It’s actually hard. It’s a pretty cool song. It's me bringing a lot of lyrical content to the table. I almost wish the song was my record, because it explains everything. If I’m in the bottom two again or if I get sent home I’ll definitely handle this different."

Marcus Canty: Before Marcus landed in the bottom two on Thanksgiving week, he told us he had no qualms about singing for survival. "I’ma [sic] sing it. I’ma sing it. That’s what I got to do you know, that’s why I’m here man. I’m dedicated to stay on this competition. Whatever it takes, I’m going to do it."

Chris Rene: "Freaky. Scary. That makes me freaked out. I don’t want to do that. No! Please! No! That’s really where I’m at with it and if so I hope I can pull it off. "

Rachel Crow: "Yes, it’s hard. It’s a song I like that hopefully I never have to sing."

Melanie Amaro: "I needed a song that I could really connect with that I can get into the judges' hearts [with] to keep me around. I just chose a song that I really enjoy. Hopefully I’ll never have to use it. "

Drew : "Preparing a song for survival was a sad thing for me to do just because I don’t even want to think about going home. But honestly, if I was in the bottom two, I would want that to be my best performance because if it was to be my last I would want it to make an impact on people."

Can't seven people just split the five million dollars? We like them all!

The contestants can't reveal the exact songs they'll sing, but what about YOU, reader? If you had to sing one song for a chance to stay alive, what would it be? We'd pick "Please Come to Boston," but it's the only song we know all the lyrics to.
