America's Next Top Model

What Is Modelland, Tyra Banks’ Book?

On America's Next Top Model All-Stars, Cycle 17, Episode 12, "Tyson Beckford," the models were challenged to participate in a very strange motion editorial, where they acted out scenes from Tyra's new book, Modelland.

Those of you who haven't been following any and all Tyra news with bated breath may have missed the original announcement about the book, which is a Hunger Games-esque fantasy novel — the first in a trilogy, since Tyra never does anything by halves.

Here's the official summary from Amazon:

No one gets in without being asked...and with her untamable hair, large forehead, and gangly, awkward body, Tookie De La Creme isn't expecting an invitation. Modelland, the exclusive and fantastical school on top of a mountain, never even dares to make an appearance in her dreams.

But someone has plans for Tookie. Before she can blink her mismatched eyes, Tookie finds herself in the very place every girl in the world obsesses about... Only seven extraordinary young women become Intoxibellas each year. Famous. Worshipped. Magical. What happens to those who don’t make it? Well, no one really speaks of that. Some things are better left unsaid.

Yeah, that's right. It's a novel about a fantastical modeling school on a mountain, where bad things happen to those who don't make it. Tyra's brain is a magical place.

You can buy this great work of literature from Amazon for just $11.98, or you can read an excerpt here.
