Did you know that the character of Quinn Fabray was almost scrapped from the Glee roster entirely? Dianna Agron recently dished that bit of shocking news to Nylon Magazine. Apparently, they couldn't find an actress they liked to fill the role. In fact, the only person left rooting for Quinn was Robert Ulrich, the Glee casting director you might remember as the Tim Gunn of The Glee Project.
Says Dianna of her audition, "I went in and read, and they called me back two days later, and he told me to come back and straighten my hair and wear something sexy. I was like, 'First of all, what is...”sexy”?' I had been at an audition in Venice, and I was wearing the exact same thing I had on before, because it was my lucky audition dress that week. My hair was curly, so I went, to [a drugstore] and bought a straightener and straightened it at Starbucks."
And, thus, a star was born! We're glad Dianna jumped through all those hoops and managed to book the role, because, frankly, we can't imagine Glee without the special brand of crazy she's bringing to the table. Sure, Quinn's baby-snatching adoption storyline is completely unrealistic. But hot damn, are we hooked on her soapy, hair-color-changing, ex-boyfriend-seducing saga.
