Was the Tiger Real in Castle Season 4, Episode 10: “Cuffed”? You Asked, We Answered!
Believe it or not, the tiger in last night's episode of Castle was 100 percent real. But there wasn't just one kitty on set — according to Castle writer Terri Miller, two female bengal tigers were used, one whose name is Kismet.
Although working with the tigers was a challenge, the most difficult part about filming "Cufffed" was keeping the plot twist a secret.
"So I almost blew it about the tigers tweeting with @venice4change about three weeks ago!" Terri admitted. "A big thank you to ABC_Publicity for keeping the Tigers a secret and not spoiling it."
We can't help but wonder what it was like for the cast and crew to work so closely with these beautiful beasts. According to Castle editor Marta Evry, it was a wild experience.
"Both were female, sisters in fact. Oh, and they're really, really big," she dished. "The tiger really did jump on top of the fridge! She was so close to the camera operator, he could feel her fur."
Terri Miller gave a shout-out to the Castle camera crew for their bravery, but they aren't the only ones who deserve recognition. Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion did almost every scene themselves — stunt doubles were used in only two scenes.
