Scott Disick’s New Job: Playing Patrick Bateman in American Psycho?
Scott Disick’s occupation is something that’s never fully explained in real life or on television. What we know: He does something having to do with nightclubs and QuickTrim. Beyond that, it’s murky territory — but maybe not for long!New York Daily Newsreports Lionsgate is remaking American Psycho, a controversial and violent 2000 film based on the 1991 namesake novel by Bret Easton Ellis. The story follows a yuppie serial killer, Patrick Bateman, who becomes increasingly unhinged and then basically drenches Manhattan in blood.
Scott, upon hearing this news, tweeted (sic): “just heard there doing a remake of American Psycho! best news i have ever heard! i hope they call me!” Actor Christian Bale played Patrick Batement in the 2000 film
In a truly bizarre moment of pop culture collision, Bret Easton Ellis then tweeted his support of casting Scott as the lead. Bret’s tongue-in-cheek tweet said: “I have warned Lionsgate that I will not approve a new version of American Psycho unless it stars SCOTT DISICK or MILES FISHER.”
American Psycho is generally considered to be a satire of American consumerism. The New York Times describes Ellis’ novel as an “angry satire of the greed-is-good decade and the confusion between surface and substance in so much of American life. Casting the longtime boyfriend of reality princess Kourtney Kardashian would be equal parts genius and gimmicky — in other words, perfect.
