Glee Cast Reacts to 2012 SAG and Golden Globe Award Nominations
The cast of Glee got hit with a one-two punch of awards show accolades when they were nominated for both a 2012 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award and a Golden Globe this week. At the Golden Globes, they'll be up for Best Comedy Series (their third year in a row!) against Enlightened, New Girl, Episodes, and Modern Family.
Despite the stiff competition (MF is notorious for the sweep), the Glee gang was just as excited as we were and hit Twitter with copious thanks:
"I'm so excited for Glee's [THIRD] Golden Globe nomination! And this will be the first Globes I can drink the champagne at! Woot-woot!" Chris Colfer (Kurt) tweeted. Aww!
"So happy honored excited thrilled that #Glee was nominated for a Golden Globe!! So amazing! Time to start looking for some dresses!" wroteLea Michele (Rachel). We'd bet a week's salary she wears something low-cut and blingy. (Call it a hunch. Or two. Or three.)
"So proud of the entire Glee family for our Golden Globe nomination, 3 yrs in a row! Still surreal!" Kevin McHale (Artie)added.
"Proud of the Glee team for the Golden Globe nomination!" Harry Shum Jr. (Mike)posted.
And, upon newly reuniting with his Glee cast, Chord Overstreet (Sam)shared in the love, too: "So glad Glee is nominated for a Golden Globe again this year! Lets keep our fingers crossed!!!"
Meanwhile, over in the SAG circle, the Glee cast is up for Outstanding Performance By An Ensemble In A Comedy Series.
We're still pouting over sassypants Ashley Fink (Zizes) getting booted this season, but she was included in the list of actors that comprised the ensemble, so she, too, tweeted her thanks: "Honored to be included in the Sag Award ensemble nomination for #Glee! So proud of everyone in the cast for always going so hard! Yay!" Yay, indeed!
And Lea chimed in with, "So excited to be nominated for a #SAG award for #Glee! So honored and happy for our whole cast!!!"
In conclusion, prepare for some white-girl wasted moments (*cough*Chris Colfer), plunging necklines (*cough* Chris Colfer Lea Michele), and sharply dressed New Ds to hit your TV screen in the new year.
