GSN To Start Airing Past Seasons of DWTS on January 21
Last month we mentioned that GSN — the Game Show Network — had acquired the rights to air past seasons of Dancing With the Stars with the plan to start showing them in January.
According to Broadway World, GSN will “premiere” DWTS Season 4 on Saturday, January 21 at 6 p.m. The story says Season 4 will air in back-to-back episodes every Saturday night starting at 6 p.m. through March 3, 2012, which is just in time for the new Season 14 to start on March 19. We’re not sure why the deal starts with Season 4, but GSN acquired Seasons 4 through 13 and the agreement includes the upcoming spring 2012 season.
This is kind of a big deal for anyone who wasn't around for the early seasons, or if you just want to watch them again. (Do you remember how different Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Louis van Amstel looked in the early years?) DWTS isn’t available on DVD, like some shows, and watching them all in pieces online is a pain.
So this means even when DWTS is off-season, it’s still on the air. That’s definitely our up of tea!
