Kristen Bell on Veronica Mars Movie’s Future: Don’t Lose Hope
While we hear Kristen Bell’s voice on Gossip Girl each week, and Jason Dohring made a brief appearance on Ringer, we really want to see them reunited as Veronica Mars and Logan Echolls. UPN’s Veronica Mars ran for three seasons, and rumors of a movie have been swirling since its 2007 cancellation. In a recent interview withThe Huffington Post, Bell gave a status update: “... we, like the few people involved that have it in our hearts — are still assessing all of our options and game-planning it."
Bell tried to finance the movie herself in 2010, but Warner Bros. wouldn’t release the rights. “I know [show creator] Rob Thomas has it in his heart to make it; this is his baby,” said Bell. “It's not off the table for any of us. We're just still trying to champion the powers that be to believe us…. Don't lose hope.”
Don’t the powers that be know we need closure on the epic romance that was Vergan? (Still working on that ‘shipper name.) How can it span years and continents and ruin lives and shed blood if the movie is never made? Fan fiction doesn’t cut it, Warner Bros.
For now, we’ll leave you with one of Logan’s inspirational messages of the day, cribbed from Eleanor Roosevelt: “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”
