Which Glee Episode Scored a Spot on TV Guide’s Best of 2011?

As the year comes to a close, many-a “Best of” lists are makin’ the rounds on the TV circuit! Earlier this month, we saw Naya Rivera’s Santana make MTV’s Top 50 TV Characters of 2011, and this week TV Guide has named Glee Season 3, Episode 3: “Asian F” one of the Best Episodes of TV of the year! (And that’s lofty praise, considering “Asian F” barely even aired three months ago!)

Thing is, the episode was super-great! We met Emma’s (Jayma Mays) “ginger-supremacist” parents! We saw Mercedes (Amber Riley) being overcome by jealousy toward Rachel (Lea Michele), eventually prompting her to leave New Directions!

But most importantly, we saw the never-ending, timeless battle between father and son, as Mike (Harry Shum Jr.) continued to struggle with telling his father the truth about his dreams. While his mother covered for him, and Tina tried to encourage him, it was a seemingly-hopeless battle between Mike, his dad, and his lil’ A-. Mike’s story is where the ep’s title took its name, and it’s where this episode found its heart!

In the midst of a slightly off-kilter season, “Asian F” was a diamond in the rough and we’re glad TV Guide agrees! (We’re also glad to know that things between Mike Jr. and Sr. ended on a happy note!)
