Project Runway All Stars Premiere: What Did You Think?
Hold on to your sewing kits, Project Runway fans. Things are about to get real.
Project Runway All Stars kicked off last night with a classic Project Runway make-something-from-junk challenge — this time, the designers had to create fashion out of 99-cent store objects. And we must say, the group generally proved why they're all-stars: Despite some clunkers, the overall quality of the fashion was much higher than normal for a Project Runway premiere.
With all the familiar faces, it was just like old times...except for the fact that the judges are, well, different. And there's no Heidi. Or Tim Gunn. No Tim Gunn. We understand why they did it (and Marie Claire editor-in-chief Joanna Coles makes for a delightfully intimidating substitute), but we're still sad. Can Project Runway really make it work without him?
All and all, we'd call the episode a strong start to what promises to be a delightful romp down a season-long memory lane.
