The Bachelorette

Should Jennifer Love Hewitt Be the Season 8 Bachelorette?

Is it time for Jennifer Love Hewitt to be a Party of 25?

At this point, J.Love is arguably more famous for her heartbreak than her acting roles. She was shot down by our own Bachelor Ben Flajnik after she took the initiative to fly up and meet him in San Francisco — and she recently told Life & Style she’s not watching his journey as the Season 16 Bachelor. Besides, she noted as a nice little jab, she prefers The Bachelorette.

Back in the Paleolithic Era of 2010, Jennifer talked to Ryan Seacrest about being The Bachelorette: "It wouldn't be a bad idea, but no, [ABC is] not [asking me]."

Well … why not? It’d be a nice stick-it-to-the-man moment for Jen to get over Bachelor Ben with 25 other guys. Plus, ratings! ABC has never cast a Bachelorette from anywhere other than a past season of The Bachelor and it would be fun, PR-friendly stunt casting to start a fresh round with Jen. Her middle name is Love! And she can, like, talk to ghosts.

Jen also has a long, interesting dating history that would be good fodder for fireside chats with Rosemaster Chris Harrison. She's dated Carson Daly, John Mayer, and Jamie Kennedy, to name a few. She was engaged to actor Ross McCall but they called it off in 2008.

Most recently she's been dating actor Jarod Einsohn. And she told USA Today in 2010, "I think I'm a really good girlfriend, and I think that I could be a really good wife. know that I love being able to give my love out to someone. "

What do you think? J.Love for Bachelorette? We already have a huge list of ladies in contention to be the Season 8 Bachelorette and probably none of them will actually get the gig, but whatever.
