Scotty McCreery’s Album ‘Clear as Day’ Goes Platinum
It’s been three months since Season 10 American Idol winner Scotty McCreery released Clear as Day, and the album has already gone platinum — selling one million copies as of January 10. The record, which was released October 4, 2011, has been topping Billboard’s Top Country Album for six weeks at the number one spot.
“Never in a million years did I dream that the album would go platinum,” McCreery said in a press release. It took nowhere near that long, and in fact, Clear as Day went Gold, selling 500,000 albums, as of only December 5. Looks like everyone must’ve taken home a little Scotty McCreery for Christmas!
