Madonna Wins Golden Globe for Best Song, Even After Elton John’s Massive Diss

Nah nah! Both Elton John and Madonna were nominated for Best Original Song at the 69th annual Golden Globe Awards — Elton for "Hello Hello" from Gnomeo & Juliet and Madonna for "Masterpiece" for W.E..

During the pre-show special on NBC, Carson Daly interviewed Elton and mentioned all the other A-list stars nominated for that award. "We've got a lot of competition," Elton said. "I probably think Mary J. [Blige] might win it for The Help. Madonna hasn't got a f--king chance."

"Those are fighting words," Carson said. "They're accurate words," Elton countered.

When Madonna walked the red carpet, Carson was brave enough to repeat Elton’s diss that Madonna didn’t have an effing chance. “Damn him!” Madonna said. “Those are fighting words.”

And they turned out to be FALSE, since Madonna did win for “Masterpiece.” Elton must’ve confused the Globes with the Oscars — at the Globes, always bet on the biggest celebs in the room.
