5 Dancers We’d Love to See Re-Audition for Season 9 of So You Think You Can Dance
After stops in Atlanta and Dallas, the So You Think You Can DanceSeason 9 auditions are well on the way to finding America’s next “Favorite Dancer.” With that in mind, we can’t help but wonder if we’ll see some repeat auditioners … the coulda, shoulda, wouldas who came close to making it in Season 8.
There were so many great dancers, whose hearts where broken in Las Vegas. But some were exceptional, so good that we cross our fingers they’ll come back to give it another go. Here is a list of 5 faces we’ve love to see re-audition for Season 9.
1. Natalia Mallory (Style:Contemporary)
Last season, Natalia Mallory auditioned with her sister Sasha (Ring a bell? Think Season 8 runner-up). Despite not having the typical dancer physique, Natalia impressed the judges with her performance. Nigel Lythgoetold her, “ you brought so much heart and technique … you were absolutely tremendous!”
However, her time in Vegas did not go as smoothly as her audition. Natalia dealt with fatigue and illness throughout the grueling schedule. She narrowly missed out on making it into the Top 20.
Will she return for Season 9?
2. Hero McRae (Style: Hip Hop)
Hero McRae delivered a big performance at the Season 8 auditions in Los Angeles. Her unique style sent her straight to Vegas. But, in the end, she wasn’t able to make the final cuts.
This time last year, we had no idea what “Wacking” was. Then came Samara Cohen, aka Princess Lockeroo, who showed America this highly entertaining, martial arts infused dance style. After her audition, judge Mary Murphy deemed her the “Wacking Diva.” It was an exciting performance!
Will she be back and can she make it all the way this time?
2. Mary Kate Sheenan (Style: Irish Step Dance)
Mary Kate Sheenan brought another unique dance style to the SYTYCD audition stage … Irish Step Dance. This little lady isn’t just your average Irish Step dancer, Mary Kate is top in the world for Irish Step Dance! Wow!
Will she come back to win the hearts of America for Season 9?
1. Alexis Mason (Style: Contemporary)
It appears that a knack for dancing runs in the Mason family. Last season, Alexis Mason, little sister of Season 5 winner Jeanine, stepped up to the plate and showed that she can also pirouette and leap.
Her big sis was there for support (no pressure), and Alexis gave it her all. The judges sent her straight to Vegas, but, somewhere along the lines, she lost her gusto.
Will we see another Mason succeed on SYTYCD in the near future?
