The Glee Project Season 2 Officially Announced

Get ready for even more reality TV drama, because Oxygen just announced that they have officially renewed The Glee Project for Season 2.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Season 2 of last year’s hit is set to begin in summer 2011 — and last year’s co-winner Damian McGinty (Rory) is in talks to return as a guest mentor.

Now, this really shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise — considering that TGP has been holding Season 2 auditions since back in September. We would have been more shocked if the show hadn’t been renewed.

No official word yet if current Glee stars like Darren Criss (Blaine) or Mark Salling (Puck) will be making special appearances like they did last summer, but we certainly have our hopes up.

As with last year, the prize includes a guest arc on Glee... though it is worth noting that the mother show itself still hasn’t officially been renewed yet for Season 4.
