We know what you're thinking... Who in their right mind thinks NATE ARCHIBALD (Chace Crawford) is a threat?! Seriously, the dude is lovable, kind, responsible and, if a little self-righteous, also extremely loyal! Sure, he's in charge of what's supposedly become a high profile magazine, but... so? There's no reason for someone to want to go after him!

Except, apparently, there is... And now our dearest Master Archibald is in the middle of a situation that we're not sure his pretty little head is equipped for! LUCKILY, he's got an unlikely pal in Gossip Girl (well, and that random assistant that popped up outta nowhere this week to help...), but we're still a lil' worried.
And according to executive producer Joshua Safran... we're right to be! Safran teased to TV Guide that "Nate's got enemies, but he doesn't quite know who they are yet" and that "the answer [of who is after him] hits closer to home than Nate would like."
That sounds rather ominous...
One suspect we CAN rule out is that devilish vixen, Diana Payne (Elizabeth Hurley). Safran said, "Diana played no part in causing the accident meant for Nate." So, there's that. But who does it leave? "Closer to home" hints at something a little sinister in the van der Bilt clan ― and we know those people are sketchy! Still... HUH?!
As for our never-seen narrator, while Gossip Girl is possibly heading into alliance with Nate, she also has to contend with Serena's Spectator persona taking over her biz! (Maybe we should be uncrossing a few wires here? Maybe Nate will call off the competition because GG just became his BFF?) "Not only is it about to get complicated, but I don't think Gossip Girl has ever seen anyone go head-to-head with her before," Safran told E! Online of the developing plot. "She's always been head and shoulders above the rest, so now the idea that Serena might challenge her reign is definitely going to ratchet up the tension."
Man, we love tension... We're preppin' for a battle in tha blogosphereeeee! Right after we hire security detail for Nate, naturally...
